on the farm
There's something special about using what you have. When the options are limited creativity has to thrive. This thanksgiving I had the opportunity to set and style the tables for a family gathering. I didn't bring a thing. My cousin Morgan and I sorted through our families tablecloths, napkins, and flatware. beautiful color combinations derived organically and we were happy about it.
While Morgan danced her way around the kitchen, I searched for the perfect greenery to clip for the old glass jars we found in the window sill of her grandmother's sewing room. Naturally, cotton was the winner.
